The exhibition Repeated Promises (Press Here for the Virtual Tour)presents an instillation comprised of still-life works, which are made out of a number of different materials: photography, altered photography, drawing, and sculptures of plastic moulds and Readymade materials. This exhibit offers a prying glance at objects which seem to originate in the mass production in China, such as: an array of food items and toys, together with intimate "normative" home scenes like a dining room table or living room. The motivation for these works is the action of photography. I see the plastic moulds as a replication of reality, creating an eternal moment frozen in time and emphasising the tactile seduction of the material. Each media enables me to focus on different details, facilitating an in depth examination of every aspect in order to reveal the object's ultimate flaw. These works look at the transitory nature of materials and reflect my viewpoint towards the economy of multitude, the build-up and disappointment of unrequited expectations, and explore my position as a mother, as a victim of The Beauty Myth, and an unwilling participator.
